Volunteer Hair Advisor, Look Good… Feel Better Ireland.

Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of 3 LGFB workshops per year. Workshops are held on Tuesday afternoons between February and November.
Role Profile
Volunteer Hair Advisors participating in the workshops are part of the Look Good…Feel Better team. Their role is to share their hair care and wig fitting expertise with the group of 10-12 patients attending the session.
The aim is to make the time interesting, relaxing, informative, and enjoyable – the patients deserve pampering and special attention. It will be necessary to show the patients how to use the products with your trained guidance.
Hair advisors are asked to:
- Attend a two hour orientation meeting with the volunteer beauty consultants
- Subsequently attend the Look Good… Feel Better sessions according to a pre-arranged rota.
- Wear the Look Good…Feel Better tabard and maintain product neutrality.
- Arrive in time to help organise the room and welcome participants.
- Introduce the LGFB organisation and the Look Good…Feel Better programme.
- Participate in the make-over wherever applicable in accordance with the 12 step format.
- Distribute patient questionnaires.
- Assist to tidy the room and ensure supplies and products are returned to secure storage.
- Provide feedback to the programme administration should you have any problems or issues.
Personal Requirements/Skills
- Must hold a recognised professional qualification as a Hairdresser or Wig Fitter.
- Punctual and reliable in attendance.
- To have a friendly, sensitive and courteous manner.
- To have excellent communication skills.
- Willing to work as a member of a team.
- Flexibility and the ability to use own initiative.
- To attend volunteer team meetings as arranged.
- Must have use of a mobile phone.
